Encourage your children to be more active with the new, character-themed VIVOFIT JR. 2 activity tracker from Garmin and Disney.
If your little ones love the characters from Disney, Star Wars and Marvel, they’ll adore the new VivoFit Jr 2 range of activity trackers, featuring icons like Minnie Mouse, Captain America, and BB-8. An exciting collaboration between Garmin, the popular brand of activity trackers, and Disney, this collection of devices encourages kids to be active and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Fun adventures and experiences to help them reach their fitness goals
Ideal for children aged four to 12 years, the VivoFit Jr 2 features Disney, Star Wars, and Marvel-themed bands and mobile app adventures. Each band theme offers a corresponding mobile app adventure where children can complete missions to advance in the journey and unlock new character step icons, with the help of their parents, by achieving 60 minutes of activity every day.
The three adventures include Mickey’s Birthday Surprise: A Disney Adventure, which sees kids plan a surprise birthday party for Mickey Mouse; BB-8’s Adventure: A Star Wars Story, where kids follow BB-8 and the pilot Zepha as they tackle app adventures on the planet Jakku; and Ultron’s Revenge: A Marvel Avenger’s Mission, where kids journey with Captain America and the Avengers as they tackle app adventures in New York City and try to defeat Ultron.
Accessory bands are available for purchase separately, letting kids explore all three adventures by swopping their band with a new one and unlocking a new adventure.
In addition to tracking steps and sleep, the VivoFit Jr 2 measures active minutes, inspiring kids to meet the recommended 60 minutes of daily activity. Once this goal is reached, they can advance to new adventures. Completing fitness goals also allows kids to unlock new character step icons, such as Minnie Mouse, BB-8, and Iron Man, which can be customised on the band display.
Free companion app for parents
Reviewing your kids’ daily activities is easy with the free companion app for parents and siblings with compatible Garmin devices. The app also lets you assign chores, which show up as icons on the device (perfect for kids who need reminders). For kids who procrastinate, schedule alerts can be set up to nudge them to finish their homework or brush their teeth. Children can use the task timer on the device so that they know how long they have left for each chore. The app allows for multiple profiles so everyone in the family can have their steps listed on the step leaderboard, promoting healthy competition for the whole family.
Durable and comfortable
The VivoFit Jr 2 is swim-friendly and designed for all-day wearaility. Along with a customisable colour screen, the activity tracker comes with two band options: A stretchy band for smaller wrists (aged four to seven years) and an adjustable band for older kids (six-plus years). The always-on color screen shows the time, date, and even reminds kids to stay active with a move bar. The device has a one-year battery life.
The VivoFit Jr 2 retails for $149, and $45 for each additional band. The patterns vary by size, and include Minnie Mouse (Disney), BB-8, The Resistance, First Order (Star Wars), Captain America and the Avengers (Marvel). It is available at various retailers including Harvey Norman, Best Denki, Courts, Tangs, H2 Hub, Mustafa, Challenger and Isetan.
